Kelly Avellino is thrilled to join FOX Nashville as a weekend evening anchor and a reporter on the investigative team. Kelly has spent her career helping to raise voices and reveal truths across multiple states, including New Jersey, Colorado, Virginia and now Tennessee.
Kelly believes the best stories are ones which produce results or change for those who need help or transparency. Much of her work has focused on aiding people in critical situations, revealing loopholes in laws, and helping safeguard children and animals. Her stories have earned multiple honors including Emmy, Edward R. Murrow, and Associated Press awards. She has years of experience as a multimedia journalist- shooting, editing and writing her own stories, while also working on investigative teams.
Kelly grew up in New Jersey, receiving her master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. After spending 10 years reporting and anchoring in Richmond, Virginia, Kelly holds the South close to her heart, and has made it her home. When she’s not digging out a story, you can find her exploring the incredible vibrance and talent of Nashville. She loves being outside, likely jogging, volunteering with animals and kids, and never passing up an opportunity to share a laugh or make a new friend. Kelly is most passionate about working for you, and serving those in her community. Please send her an email with any story or issue you feel should be covered!
