Nashville Sounds announce 2019 home schedule

The Nashville Sounds have released their 2019 schedule.

For the second time in five years the Nashville Sounds will be opening up their season at home, playing against the Iowa Cubs at First Tennessee Park.

Opening day is set for April 4.

“We’re excited to announce our 2019 home schedule at First Tennessee Park the best ballpark in Minor League Baseball,” Sounds General Manager Adam Nuse said. “Over two million fans have packed the ballpark in its first four years and we look to continue the trend in 2019.”

The Sounds are moving to the American Conference's Northern Division as part of the 2019 Pacific Coast League realignment. The division also includes the Iowa Cubs, Omaha Storm Chasers and Memphis Redbirds.

Other home games for the 2019 season will be on Easter Sunday April 21, Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, Fathers Day on Sunday, June 16 and Labor Day on Monday September 2.

The longest homestand of the season at First Tennessee Park will last from May 21 until June 2 when the Sounds will play the Memphis Redbirds, Round Rock Express and New Orleans Baby Cakes on a 13 game streak.

Of the 11 Friday games, 12 Saturday dates and 12 Sunday games the Sounds will play each team 16 times.
