Nashville SC to host Colorado Rapids in 4th round of U.S. Open Cup

Nashville SC is set to host MLS team Colorado Rapids fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup.

The match is set for June 5 or 6 at Vanderbilt Football Stadium and came about from a random draw Thursday morning at U.S. Soccer headquarters.

Some of the team members and head coach Gary Smith have a history with Colorado. Gary Smith lead Colorado to a MLS Cup championship in 2010. Team members Matt Pickens and defender Kosuke Kimura played for Smith during that time and claim to have been integral pieces pf the win.

This game will also be the first time Nashville SC has played a Major League Soccer team in a league or tournament match, being the first of at least 10 home games this summer from June to August.

Tickets will go on sale for the game on Tuesday, May 29 at noon.
