In general, it seems the snow in Eastern Washington wasn't as widespread Sunday as expected. Even still, there were a few impressive snow totals.
Here in the Pacific Northwest, this weather maker, AKA storm system, even dropped a light trace of snow in Spokane Saturday, with 1-4" to come Sunday. This made it the earliest snowfall in the area in almost 100 years!
Here's a glance at the snow reports -- tweeted from NWS Spokane earlier.
Snow will be wrapping up this evening in the northern Cascades and northeastern corner of the state. Some mountain roads and areas surrounding Spokane could be slick and icy.
Over the Cascades, it was the first snow of the season for many of the ski resorts. Snow levels hovered around 4,000 feet. Meanwhile, the central and southern Cascades could still battle some additional snow accumulation. Anywhere from 1-4" could stack up along the east slopes of the Cascade ridge above 2,500'. For this reason, a Winter Weather Advisory continues until midnight this evening.
Here in Western Washington, isolated showers will track out of the area shortly. This will give way to clearing skies and plunging overnight temperatures. Lows in the South Sound and Southwest Interior could plummet to the low to mid 30s. Because of this, the National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory. There could be an isolated slippery spot for the morning drive, but I suspect most moisture will be reserved to the vegetation and grassy areas. Cover any sensitive plants!
