Classroom Chaos: Teacher placed on leave after video shows hectic classroom
CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A South Carolina teacher has been placed on administrative leave after a video began to spread on social media Tuesday.
In the video a female student can be seen standing on the desk and kicking toward the teacher's head before pretending to slap him.
The teacher stands up and tries to move, however the student then began to push and shove him before stomping on the desk.
The teacher can be heard saying "get off the desk before you get written up" as the student continued to stomp atop the desk.
The school district released the following statement regarding the incident:
"The Calhoun County School District is currently working with local law enforcement agencies involving the situation that occurred at Calhoun County High School on December 3, 2018. The student involved in this incident has been suspended and recommended for expulsion in accordance with board policy. The faculty member involved has been placed on Administrative Leave. The School District of Calhoun County takes the safety of both our students and faculty very seriously and will do everything in our power to ensure their safety. "
