Young man killed in accidental shooting in Clarksville
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —
A young man was killed in an accidental shooting in Clarksville.
Clarksville Police said a man in his 20s was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head at about 4:10 p.m. Monday.
Police said the man was apparently showing a rifle to a family member in the 300 block of Rinngold Road when it discharged. Police said neither party knew the gun was still loaded. The man was standing in front of the rifle when the trigger was pulled, resulting in a deadly gunshot wound.
Police say right now, there are no charges pending in this case and it appears to be the midhandling of a loaded weapon.
The investigation is ongoing.
