NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) – Vanderbilt Baseball (4) took home a 6-4 win over Auburn (5) in game 8 last night of the 2023 SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover, Alabama.
Center fielder Enrique Bradfield Jr. started off the game with back-to-back stolen bases, and Vanderbilt took a 2-1 lead in the first inning thanks to runs by Davis Diaz and Jack Bulger.
Sam Hilboki pitched the first 4 innings allowing 2 earned runs, and Patrick Reilly took over in the 5th inning and also allowed 2 runs.
The score was tied 2-2 in the third inning, but a run by Diaz brought Vanderbilt back into the lead.
The game ended with Vanderbilt having 6 runs, 6 hits, and 1 error and Auburn having 4 runs, 5 hits, and 1 error.
Vanderbilt is set to face Florida (1) in the third-round of the 2023 SEC Baseball Tournament tonight.
