NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — FOX 17 News has obtained permission to share photos Tennessee Lt. Governor Randy McNally's verified Instagram account commented on.
The suggestive photos posted by a 20-year-old male on Instagram under the handle @franklynsuperstar, largely depict him in his underwear in various poses. Lt. Governor McNally's Instagram account commented on some of the photos with comments such as "Super look Finn," "Hi Sunshine!" "I love it," and "Finn, you can turn a rainy day into rainbows and sunshine."
The Lt. Governor's office issued a statement on Wednesday night following the FOX 17 News report, in part stating "He takes great pains to view every post he can and frequently posts encouraging things to many of his followers. Does he always use the proper emoji at the proper time? Maybe not."
FOX 17 News and other media members spoke with Lt. Gov. McNally at the Tennessee State Capitol on Thursday, the Lt. Governor adding "I try to encourage people on their posts and support people...I don't hold any animosity towards gay people."
When asked if he felt there was anything on Instagram that was inappropriate, he answered “Well I probably could have been a little more careful in my selection.”
