MUFREESBORO, Tenn. (WZTV) — Two Middle Tennessee State University graduates took home some Grammy gold Sunday night.
Both alumnus traveled to the Staples Center in LA to accept their awards.
F. Reid Shippen won his fifth Grammy for engineering Gloria Gaynor’s best roots gospel album, “Testimony.” He graduated from MTSU in 1994.
Aaron Raitiere won his first Grammy for co-writing a hit on the movie "A Star is Born." His song, "I'll Never Love Again" took home the gold for the best song in visual media category. He graduated from MTSU in 2009.
Nine alumnus were nominated for Grammys this year. MTSU graduates have now won a total of 32 Grammys.
