Two charged after Mt. Juliet father murdered while delivering pizza in Nashville

Doniyor Abdumadjidov

Two people have been charged nine months after a father of three was killed while delivering pizza in Nashville.

A Grand Jury indicted Marrino Seay and Michael Branch Jr., both 29, in the death of Doniyor Abdumadjidov.

Abdumadjidov was gunned down last August while delivering pizza for New York Pizza to an address in the 2700 block of Batavia Street.

Seay and Branch are each charged with first degree murder and especially aggravated robbery.

FOX 17 News spoke with Abdumadjidov's heartbroken family after the shooting. The family had moved from Uzbekistan and had only been in America for six weeks when the father of three was murdered.

"They seek for a better future in the United States, but it turned out even worse than at home,” Shakhlo Abdumadjidov, the victim's wife, said through a translator and friend.

A GoFundMe page has garnered more than $80,000 for the victim's family.

Branch of Memphis is being held in Metro Jail without bond. Seay of East Nashville is jailed in Memphis on a burglary charge.
