PHOTOS: THP troopers seize 11 pounds of crystal meth in traffic stop on I-24
COFFEE COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) —
Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers said they seized 11 pounds of crystal methamphetamine/ice in a traffic stop along I-24 in Coffee County.
Driver Shannon Baxter and passenger Chanel Satter, both of Indianapolis, Ind. are charged with felony meth trafficking charges.
THP troopers stopped a car traveling along I-24 in Coffee County for a traffic violation. Troopers said Baxter was uncooperative and denied authorities consent to search the vehicle.
The Coffee County Sheriff's Office was called and deployed a K-9, which indicated drugs were in the vehicle. Upon search of the car, 11 pounds of crystal meth/ice was discovered. The drugs were distributed in five packages being concealed behind the back seats and under the carpet in the trunk.
