Tennessee schools could be forced to display 'In God We Trust'
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) - A Tennessee bill is aiming to get the nation's motto prominently displayed in schools.
Tennessee bill HB2368 seeks to have "In God We Trust" displayed in schools.
"As introduced, enacts the 'National Motto in the Classroom Act,' which requires each local education agency to display the national motto, 'In God We Trust,' in a prominent location in each school." - HB2368
It's sponsored by Rep. Susan Lynn, R-Mt. Juliet, and has passed on first consideration.
A similar bill is making its way through the Florida Legislature.
