UPDATE: Teen shot outside market in east Nashville, suspect arrested

UPDATE: Suspect, 18-year-old Josh Raines is arrested and charged with attempted criminal homicide. Charges are not expected against the other person with him. Raines is being held on $380,000 bond. The victim has not been identified at this time.


NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A 16-year-old is shot outside a market in east Nashville this morning.

The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Save A Trip Market & Laundry, 1520 Porter Road, at around 9 a.m. on Saturday. The teen has serious injuries, but is in stable condition.

It appears the shooting started with a verbal altercation when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the teen multiple times, according to Metro Nashville police. Two white male suspects left the scene in what is believed to be an older black and faded Chevrolet pick up truck.

One suspect is described by police as 6’1”, heavy set, early 20’s and long blond hair. The other suspect is described as 5'2", late teens, blond curly hair.
