NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Metro Nashville Police have identified the man killed in the parking lot of McGavock High School Sunday night as 18-year-old Brandon J. Adams.
Detectives say on Sunday night around 9 p.m., Adams and a relative drove to the school to meet some other people. Another vehicle arrived in the parking lot, pulling beside Adams and an occupant entered the backseat of his Honda Accord.
A second occupant of the vehicle exited the car armed with a pistol, threatening Adams and his relative. Police say as Adams fled, shots were fired and Adams was hit several times before crashing near McGavock Pike.
Adams died after being transported to Skyline Medical Center and his relative was treated for a graze wound. Police say the person in the backseat is believed to have fled the car before Adams crashed. The suspects are described as two young black males wearing hoodies and sweatpants at the time of the shooting.
