Taste of Winter: Middle Tennessee could get hard freeze, first snowflakes next week

FOX 17 News

Middle Tennessee could get its first taste of winter with a hard freeze and first snowflakes next week.

Chief Meteorologist Katy Morgan said this weekend is looking chilly. Lows both mornings will be in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Right now, models show the high on Saturday may only reach the upper 40s then swing back to mid-50s on Sunday.

Looking ahead to Tuesday and Wednesday: Next week might have those winter wonderland lovers jumping for joy with the first snowflakes.

The coldest air of the season moves in with lows in the 20s and highs in the 40s.

There's a possibility middle Tennessee could see the first snowflakes of the season, according to early models. The SkyWatch17 weather team will monitor this winter-like weather and bring the latest updates on-air and online.
