Fox 17 News is getting an in depth look at how Smile Direct Club will benefit the local economy.

The low-cost at home-teeth straightening products company announced it would be expanding in Nashville, bringing 2,000 jobs with it.

The company plans to hire new employees through 2024 in a wide range of careers including manufacturing, distribution, research and development. The jobs will be available both in Nashville and Antioch, where the company anticipates most of the growth will be concentrated.

"The biggest thing for me is we are looking for someone who comes in and says, 'I want to make a difference and I want to help people find their confidence.' That connection to our purpose is what really makes people stand out," says Chief People Officer Cheryl DeSantis.

DeSantis says the company is also tapping into Nashville's rich recent college graduate population to fill these roles.

"It's about the energy, the passion, what makes people tick, and really showing and letting your true self shine through," she says of the interview process.

Smile Direct Club says it's about 60 percent less than in cost than traditional braces or Invisalign, offering more affordable orthodontic care.
