NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Senior Senator Marsha Blackburn, (R) TN, tells FOX 17 News she's requested a formal briefing from the Health and Human Services Secretary on how monoclonal antibodies are being allocated to states.
The Biden Administration has taken over distribution of the antibody treatment to states, saying 70 percent of the supply so far has been needed in states with the lowest vaccination rates including Florida, Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana.
Senator Blackburn says this amounts to playing politics with life and death explaining, “It is astounding to me that this administration would push so far left that they would look at American citizens and say we're not going to let you have this treatment even though it's a life saving treatment. We're not going to let you have this. This is why we have asked for a personal briefing. It's why we continue to work with our local and state officials, our healthcare providers to address this situation. It is wrong.”
The monoclonal antibody IV provides an immune response to fight off COVID-19 easier and keep more people out of the hospital.
