Second teen charged in 16-year-old girl's East Nashville murder


Metro Nashville Police said a second teen boy was charged in connection to the murder of a 16-year-old girl, killed while trying to take cover from gunfire in October.

Police arrested Jamarius Hill, 16, on Tuesday. Hill was charged with murder for the Oct. 8 shooting of Deberianah Begley in the James Cayce Homes.

Earlier this year, Antonio Gordon-Jenkins, 17, was also arrested and charged with Deberianah's murder.

Deberianah, who was killed while trying to take cover from gunfire in East Nashville. Police said Hill and Gordon-Jenkins were with a group of young men when they shot at a another group in the courtyard.

“Why did they do this to my baby,” Mother Tika Begley said at a vigil in October. “That's my only daughter."

Both Hill and Gordon-Jenkins were charged in juvenile court and held in juvenile detention.
