NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Former Tennessee Titan Runningback Eddie George will reportedly be coaching college football in Nashville.

Brett McMurphy with the Stadium Network, tweeted Sunday that Eddie George will be the new coach at Tennessee State University. FOX 17 News has reached out to TSU for comment.

George played for the National Football League from 1996-2004. He began his career with the Houston Oilers (which became Tennessee Titans) and ended his last season in Dallas.

George was inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

TSU is currently coached by Rod Reed. The team plays today at home against Southeast Missouri State.

Even Deion Sanders responded to the news congratulating his friend on the job.
