NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The National Weather Service recognized Bridgestone Area Wednesday as "well-equipped to handle all forms of severe weather."
The Predators and Bridgestone Arena are the first NHL team and first professional sports venue in Nashville to complete the program. The NWS approved Bridgestone Arena as an NWS StormReady Supporter.
This distinction comes one day before severe weather is expected to hit Nashville Thursday during the 7 p.m. Preds game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
“We are excited to continue our work with our partners at the Office of Emergency Management and National Weather Service Nashville,” said Chad Ludkey. Director of Public Safety for Bridgestone Arena. “This partnership ensures that all guests entering Bridgestone Arena can rest easy knowing we have done everything possible to improve preparedness in the event of extreme disaster. Their safety is our number one priority.”
OEM and NWS representative presented Bridgestone Arena staff members with the distinction Wednesday morning.
