Police: Two people overdose in car with toddler inside near Bellevue

Metro Nashville Police said a man and woman overdosed in a car with a toddler inside on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said the child is okay and youth services has been called to the scene. According to the MNPD, the overdoses happened at 7116 Hwy 70 S around 4:15 p.m.

The man that overdosed is the child's father, identified as Christopher McGill.

The toddler's mother has since picked up the child. A spokesperson for the Nashville Fire Department said the two adults were taken to the hospital.

The woman was unconscious when first responders arrived, and they administered multiple doses of Narcan. The NFD said the man's condition was not as serious as the woman's condition.

Police said McGill admitted to using heroin. He has since been charged with child neglect. and second offense DUI. Police said there are no charges filed yet for the woman who overdosed.

Officers have not identified the people who overdosed.
