Police officer injured after head-on crash near Bordeaux

Metro Nashville Police said an officer was taken to the hospital after a crash on West Trinity Lane Wednesday night.

Police said another driver struck a police car around 7:30 p.m. The car was pulled over for an expired license plate. After it stopped, police said the drive pulled a U-turn and crash into another police car head-on.

The officer suffered a broken ankle. The 19-year-old driver was detained. Two other teens were in the car at the time of the crash.

Crews closed West Trinity Lane from Buena Vista Pike to Youngs Lane to investigate the crash.

Metro said the officer was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
