Police: MS-13 gang member, parolee charged with selling cocaine in Nashville
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —
Narcotics detectives arrested a MS-13 gang member and convicted armed robber on parole Friday.
Jason Sandoval was taken into custody on a three-count indictment charging him with selling multi-ounce quantities of cocaine in the Nashville area. Sandoval was registered with the Metro Nashville Police Department as an ex-convict on parole in August 2017.
Metro Police, DEA, Homeland Security Investigations and the TBI have been investigating Sandoval since May. The Metro Police Special Response team made their move to take Sandoval into custody as he was walking out of an apartment on Due West Avenue on Friday. He allegedly tried to run, but was unsuccessful.
Authorities said searches of the apartment and a family member's home on Bellshire Drive led to the recovery of gang paraphernalia, cocaine, marijuana, and $30,000 cash.
Sandoval was jailed in lieu of a $175,000 bond.
