Police catch woman taking lottery tickets during robbery at Brentwood gas station
NASHVILLE, Tenn. —
Metro Police responded to a robbery at the Shell gas station on Old Hickory Boulevard in Brentwood on Thursday.
Upon arrival, police encountered the store employee outside, pointing at the store advising that the suspect was still inside.
Once inside, officers saw the suspect, identified as Christy Moon, pulling lottery tickets out of the dispenser. Moon was then taken into custody without incident.
According to a Metro Police affidavit, the employee stated that Moon came inside the store with a walking stick, attempted to by gas, but the employee refused to sell it to her due to her not having an approved container.
Moon reportedly became very angry, told the employee that she was going to cut her, and forced her way behind the counter. Moon knocked over and damaged several pieces of merchandise and allegedly said that she is "going to take all this money," while messing with the register.
The employee then went outside and Moon remained behind the counter as she pulled lottery tickets and scratched them.
Officers say Moon freely admitted to the act.
Moon is charged with aggravated robbery.
