Pedestrian hit by cement truck dies following W. Trinity Lane crash
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —
A pedestrian hit by a Nashville Ready Mix cement truck Friday near W. Trinity Lane has died, according to Metro Police.
Officers responded to a serious crash at W. Trinity Lane and Brick Church Pike at around 11:30 a.m. Investigators believe the pedestrian identified as Al Star, 66, of Nashville, was crossing Brick Church Pike as the cement truck turned left onto the intersection from Trinity Lane.
The driver of the truck said he noticed Star as he was making the left turn, but could not stop in time. Star was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
Metro Police said there is not a crosswalk at the intersection, but Star was crossing where a crosswalk would typically be located. Fatal crash officers have not yet determined who they think had the right of way.
