NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A woman is killed after a Honda Civic slams into a Chevrolet S-10 truck, splitting it in two.
The crash occurred on Gallatin Pike North Friday night as the truck was pulling out of a driveway. Metro Nashville police identify the passenger killed as 30-year-old Alexandra Lloyd.
The 18-year-old driver of the Civic, Felix Perez-Morente, is jailed after reportedly told police he had drank alcohol prior to the accident. A blood sample was taken.
Perez-Morente is being charged with aggravated assault by reckless conduct with the use of a deadly weapon and vehicular homicide by intoxication.
Lloyd's husband, the driver of the truck, also went to jail after multiple needles, two doses of Narcan, and a drug kit including white power, needles and a tourniquet were found, police report. He is charged with DUI, simple possession, possession of paraphernalia.
Police say neither driver had a valid license or proof of insurance.
