The pandemic has slowed a lot of our usual routine but construction isn't one of them.

Silo Studios, a mixed-use building of office and retail space, is complete in The Nations. The 80,000 square foot space was converted from an old lumber mill.

In fact, the area is booming with development. Some projects in The Nations include:

  • Silo Studios: 1605 54th Ave N #100
  • Broadstone Nations: 4731 Centennial Blvd.
  • Stocking 51 expansion: 5016 Centennial Blvd.
  • Silo Bend: 5400 Centennial Blvd.
  • LC Nashville: 5010 Tennessee Ave.

Owner and developer Flyway partnered with Dowdle Construction Group and architects from Southeast Venture Design for the new space.

“We were ultimately able to save and restore enough of the original flooring to cover the main lobby, and the focal point when you walk in is a piece of the lumber mill machinery,” said Glynn Dowdle, president and principal of Dowdle Construction Group. “The building was in pretty bad shape when we started, so to complete a complex project like this successfully, it took everyone – the owner, designer, engineer and contractor – working together as a team. We’re thrilled with the result.”
