NASHVILLE (WZTV) — A 3-year-old went missing early Tuesday only to be found not long after by a neighbor who fed and clothed the young boy.

FOX 17 News' Justin McFarland had an exclusive interview with a man named Reese who said he was with friends leaving his apartment early Tuesday to get food when they came across the boy only wearing only a shirt.

"We dressed him. We put on bottoms, washed his feet and put socks on him," Reese said.

Reese said the child led them to different apartment units as they tried to find his home. And the toddler ended up getting hungry while they tried to get him home.

"He said he wanted something to eat, so we got him a waffle," Reese said by the time the waffle was done, the police had arrived and the boy was safely returned home.

Reese said the child showed them that he could unlock the doors on his own and how he was able to get out of his apartment.
