NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — UPDATE:
Metro Police are looking for the person who fired shots at a police officer's patrol vehicle for "no apparent reason" in Midtown early Friday morning.
It happened around 12 a.m. along 2112 Charlotte Avenue.
Police say the officer had been driving through a Twice Daily parking lot when a man smoking outside the building "nonchalantly" fired four shots toward the cruiser then fled on foot.
Police said the gunman held his cell phone to his ear during the shooting and never entered the store.
The gunshots missed the officer’s squad car, and the officer did not get hurt.
Metro Police have since released surveillance photos of the gunman.
