NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Two EF-0 tornadoes touched down and caused destruction on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
NWS crews were out Thursday assessing storm damage in both Rutherford and Wilson counties. FOX 17 News remains in a Code Red weather alert for the potential for more heavy rain and strong winds.
NWS confirmed an EF-0 tornado with 80 MPH winds touched down in the Milton area of Rutherford County.
There was another EF-0 tornado with 70 MPH winds confirmed in eastern Wilson County.
In Lebanon, a homeowner told FOX 17 News that his barn was blown to pieces when the tornado came through. Some pieces of sheet metal are still stuck in power lines, causing outages in the area.
