Nashville Electric Service announced a total of 3,600 residents are without power as of Monday night. This is a significant decrease from the estimated 50,000 initially reported early Tuesday morning.

During a press conference on Friday, Mayor John Cooper announced about 11,000 residents are currently without power in middle Tennessee following a deadly tornado early Tuesday morning. Cooper reiterated that the outages have decreased significantly from the estimated 50,000 initially reported early Tuesday morning.

Thousands of Nashville Electric Service customers remain without power two days after a deadly tornado ripped through the city.
NES said 18,350 are still in the dark. NES has restored power to over 31,000 customers since the tornado hit.
Contributing to this number is the amount of power poles damaged during storms: 673. Those poles are in the process of being replaced.
To add perspective, about 200 power poles were broken in the tornado outbreak in 1998.
NES has 400 additional contract line workers and are working to restore power to customers, with priorities tohospitals and other critical facilities. NES said it hopes to have power restored for moist people by Monday.
"That's an estimation, not a guarantee," NES stated in an email.
Other areas without power are as follows: Wilson County has 2,200, Putnam and Jackson counties have a total of 3,000 without power.

There are at least 40,000 people without power over four counties.
Nashville Electric Service reports 35,000 of their customers are still without power.
Wilson County is reporting approximately 5,000 without power. Upper Cumberland (Putnam County and Jackson County) should be fully restored by Tuesday night.
During a news briefing, NES urged residents not go go near live downed wires.
Anyone who sees a downed power line should call 911 immediately.

UPDATE: A total of 47,634 residents are currently without power in middle Tennessee.
NES is reporting 21,739 customers are without power as of 2:01 a.m.
Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation is reporting 11,659 customers are currently affected by power outages including 8,590 in Cheatham County and 1,919 in Montgomery County.
Middle Tennessee Electric is reporting a total of 14,236 customers are currently without power including 13,971 in Wilson County.

NES is reporting more than 15,800 customers are currently without power.
A total of 15,855 customers were reported to be without power as of 1:05 a.m. NES reports more than 1,100 customers in the Germantown area were reported to be without power, as well as more than 1,200 customers in east Nashville.
