NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A valet worker at a Nashville hotel is shot by a possible burglar on a bike.

A shooting occurred at 2:45 a.m. Saturday after a Hutton Hotel valet employee saw two men on bicycles ride into the parking garage, according to Metro Nashville police. As he followed them when they came out, one of the men stopped near the intersection of 19th Avenue North and Hayes Street and began shooting.

The valet worker received a gunshot in the leg, said police. His injury is said to be non-life threatening.

An armed security guard in the area of the shooting heard the gunfire and also came under fire. He fired back, but it is unknown if the gunman was hit, police say.

The bike abandoned by the gunman and a pistol found next to a building at the 1800 block of Church Street are being forensically processed.

Prior to the shooting, a Hutton Hotel security guard, called by the valet employee, confronted one of the men in the garage. He told police that the man on the bike pulled a gun on him and told him, “This s**t ain’t worth your life.”

A surveillance video captured a grainy image of one of the men.

Police are asking if anyone knows the identity of either suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
