Nashville neighbors react to new billboards in support of Mayor Barry after affair

Some people in Nashville are going out of their way to show off their stance on Mayor Barry’s affair.

New billboards are up around town as many people still have questions about what’s next for the mayor.

Before Wednesday, it might not have thought anything about seeing a billboard that reads ‘We Love Our Mayor.’ Now most cannot see or hear Mayor Megan Barry’s name without thinking of her affair with her former head of security Sgt. Rob Forrest.

Yet as the TBI and Metro Council are both investigating whether there had been a misuse of taxpayer money, someone paid for two billboards that read ‘We Love Our Mayor.’ Drivers can see the billboards along I-24 West at Fesslers Lane and I-24 at the Silliman Evans bridge.

“Megan Barry has done a lot for Nashville,” Nashville resident Latisha Yarlett said. “She's brought us a very far way.”

“When I saw the billboard I thought you know that's Nashville,” Nashville resident Andy Martin said. “That's pretty cool.”

Despite their support, there are still questions.

“Right now we still need to get to the bottom of what transpired as far as whether any political funding or any of our taxpayer money went toward funding her affair,” Yarlett said.
