NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) - Metropolitan Nashville Police have arrested a 55-year-old man for the theft of a mannequin he allegedly stole from the Hollywood Hustler store. He was later found in bed with the mannequin.
According to the arrest affidavit, Christopher Wade came into the Hustler store on Church Street shortly after midnight and grabbed a mannequin just inside the door. He then allegedly took the mannequin, which had merchandise attached, and knocked off its left arm in the process of the theft.
The assistant manager followed Wade into the parking lot and argued with him for several minutes, but Wade placed the mannequin in the back of his Toyota Tacoma and then fled the scene. The assistant manager was able to write down the tag number and police located Wade at a Jones Pointe residence.
Police were allowed into the residence and found Wade in bed with the stolen mannequin, which was missing its left arm and still wearing the merchandise from the store.
Wade was arrested for theft of property and also had an active warrant for his arrest in another matter. The mannequin was valued at $5,000, not including the merchandise it was wearing.
