Nashville crews recover body from the Cumberland River

UPDATE: The Nashville Fire Department says a body has been recovered from the Cumberland River.

Fire crews said it appears the body, an adult male, has been in the water for "quite some time."

Crews were dispatched near the Commodore Yacht Club Marina area after someone spotted the body in the water on Wednesday evening.

Crews said there are no obvious signs of trauma, but an autopsy will be performed.

No other information was available.


A possible water rescue is underway on the Cumberland River.

The Nashville Fire Department said crews are launching a a boat near Cleeces Ferry Boat Ramp for a water rescue.

No additional information was given.

FOX 17 News has a crew headed to the scene and will be providing updates.
