Murfreesboro woman killed in Smyrna head-on crash

A Murfreesboro woman was killed in a Smyrna crash on Thursday night.

Smyrna Police officers were called to a crash at 8:51 p.m. Thursday in the 7600 block of West Jefferson Pike/TN-266 near the entrance to the Jefferson Springs Recreation Area.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a gold Saturn was traveling west on TN-266 South when police say it crossed the double yellow line into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on with a black Infiniti QX60 that was traveling east on TN-266 North.

The driver of the Infiniti was taken to Stonecrest Medical Center to treat her injuries.

The driver of the Saturn, identified as Tammie McClard, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Smyrna Police continue to investigate the collision.
