One firefighter dead, two injured in Lawrenceburg house fire

The Tennessee Highway Patrol of Lawrenceburg says that one firefighter has died and two were injured in a house fire on Monday afternoon.

The fire broke out at a home on the 500 block of Hood Lakes Road around 4 p.m. The Maury County Fire Department said the distress call for injured officer went out at 8 p.m.

Multiple agencies from Maury, Giles and Lawrence counties responded to the house fire.

Crews were still on the scene late Monday night. The Lawrenceburg Fire Department plans to hold a news conference at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Metro Nashville Medical Examiner Dr. Feng Li said the firefighter's autopsy will be completed sometime Tuesday morning.

"These are our heroes. We work with them everyday," Feng Li said. "They are our first line of defense."

The firefighter has since been identified as Jason Dickey.

There is no additional information available about the extent of the two firefighters' injuries
