NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The man wanted for kidnapping a 12-year-old Texas girl and trafficking her for sex in Tennessee is back in court today.
36-year-old Tavarie Williams was arrested in August 2016 after allegedly offering the girl a ride home in San Antonio, Texas. Williams is accused of bringing her to Tennessee against her will where he then trafficked her for commercial sex for a month. Both Williams and the girl were found in a Franklin hotel room by agents with the TBI.
Williams was originally charged with two counts of trafficking for a commercial sex act, but that has now grown to 12 counts. He is also now facing two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping and three counts of rape of a child.
Williams was arraigned in Davidson County in September and was back in court for a discussion hearing Thursday.
