MNPD detective decommissioned following DUI arrest
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A 19-year veteran of the Metro Nashville Police Department is arrested for DUI.
Detective Sergeant Sandra Luther is charged with DUI after crashing her personal vehicle on I-40 while off-duty in Wilson County early Saturday morning, according to the Metro Nashville police. She has since been decommissioned.
A trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol responding to calls of a pickup truck weaving on the road found the vehicle rolled over near I-840. Luther, the only occupant in the vehicle, was uninjured.
The trooper reported that Luther smelled of alcohol. She submitted to a blood test after she reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol.
Luther, 49, did not have her department-issued weapon on her at the time.
Luther was booked into the Wilson County Jail.
