NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Country music icon and animal advocate Miranda Lambert spreads the love this Valentine's Day by donating $20,000 to 20 animal shelters.
Lambert wants to share her love with pet-loving fans who have volunteered, fostered or adopted rescue pets. Each shelter will receive $1,000 each from her donation on behalf of everyone who cared for these animals over this past year.
The famous artist began volunteering at animal shelters as a teenager and she has five rescue dogs, several cats, rabbits and horses herself.
“Shelter pets – especially the ones that are hardest to get adopted – and the people who care for them, have always had my heart. Valentine’s Day gives me one more chance to show just how special they all are to me.”
People who want to care for those harder to adopt animals such as large dogs, special needs dogs, pit mixes and senior dogs can take the Mutt Match quiz - a fun questionaire that can match you with your Valentine dog this year.
You can find the Mutt Match quiz here.
If you take the questionaire, you are entered to win tickets to The Bandwagon Tour featuring Lambert and Little Big Town.
The 20 shelters receiving Lambert's loving donation this Valentine's Day are listed below:
MuttNation encourages everyone who has the time to volunteer at shelters to do so and foster or adopt these animals who need your love from a local shelter near you.
