Deadly Millersville shooting suspect surrenders to police in North Carolina

Suspect Ollie James Thomas surrendered to law enforcement in Statesville, North Carolina, without incident at 4 p.m. Monday.

Millersville Police say Thomas was involved in the shooting that happened on Bethel Road near the I-65 north on-ramp at around 10 a.m. Sunday. The victim was identified as 30-year-old Toron M. Thomas from Clarksville.

Millersville police have identified the suspect as 20-year-old Ollie James Thomas from Statesville, NC. Warrants are out for his arrest.

Police are asking for help in locating a suspect out of a deadly shooting in Millersville Sunday morning.

Millersville police say the shooting happened on Bethel Road near the I-65 north on-ramp around 10 a.m.

Police say the suspect is a black man believed to be in his mid-20's with facial hair. They say the suspect was wearing dark colored jogging pants, a black wind breaker, and black Air Jordan shoes.

Police say the suspect left the scene in a 2013 Jeep Laredo with a Tennessee Tag 867M8. That vehicle was last seen traveling on I-65 South towards Nashville.

The victim, who has not been identified yet, died after being transported to Skyline Medical Center.

Anyone with information on the suspect or sees the vehicle is asked to call Millersville police immediately.

Police say the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
