Middle Tennessee marching bands to square off at Station Camp Marching Invitational
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Station Camp High School will host the annual Station Camp Marching Invitational next Saturday, pitting 22 of Middle Tennessee's top marching bands against each other.
The SCMI is one of the top early season high school band contests in the midstate and will also feature and exhibition showcasing the Station Camp High School Thundering Herd marching band and the Austin Peay State University "Governor's Own" Marching band.
Bands in competition will be divided into four classes based on size with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards in band, percussion, and guard. There will also be awards for overall guard, percussion, music, visual awards, Most Entertaining Band, Best Pit Crew, Spirit Award (based on Sportsmanship), and Sweepstakes Awards in Small and Large Divisions.
The September 22nd event starts at 1 p.m. with exhibition performances starting at 8:15 that evening. Tickets are $10 for school-aged children and above. Those 5 and under do not need to pay admission.
