NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A new affordable home option is opening in Nashville in the form of micro-homes.
The new development held a dedication ceremony Tuesday in the Wedgewood Houston area.
It's a partnership project between non-profit Affordable Housing Resources (AHR) and Auburn University Rural Studio.
The homes are 550 square-feet and are specially designed to keep bills down. Energy bills are estimated at $30 a month and a mortgage payment is estimated to be under $1,000 per month.
Advocates say this will have a profound impact on Nashville’s affordable housing crisis.
