'Violent teen' who escaped Nashville detention facility captured in Memphis

A "violent teen" who escaped a juvenile detention center in Nashville has been captured in Memphis.

Fugitive Derrius Calicutt, 16, who escaped the TrueCare juvenile detention facility on Tuesday was taken into custody on Wednesday.


Metro Nashville Police are searching for a teen escapee from the TrueCore juvenile detention facility.

Police say 16-year-old Derrius Calicutt escaped from the facility located at 275 Stewarts Ferry Pike at 1:10 a.m. Tuesday morning. He is considered a 'violent teenager' according to police and has aggravated assault charges out of Memphis.

He is described as a black male, standing 6'2" and weighs 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue jogging pants.
