Metro middle school students become published authors
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —
A group of Metro Schools children becoming published authors.
And they've turned to FOX 17 News for tips on writing!
Anchor and Reporter Erika Kurre hung out with this class at JT Moore Middle School in Green Hills on Thursday.
They're among more than 450 kids becoming published novelists through a program called "A Novel Idea."
It's a non-profit program with funding from the Communty Foundation of Middle Tennessee, providing scholarships for underserved children to get more comfortable with writing.
These students' published novels will be presented to them in November in a ceremony at Parnassus Books in Green Hills.
There is still one camp open with spots available this summer.
