NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — The Metro Public Health Department amended Nashville's mask mandate Friday.
The mask mandate now does not require facial coverings or masks to be worn while outdoors in public spaces or while in places of worship.
The order that was first approved on June 25, 2020, still urges people to maintain social distancing and wear face coverings or masks when interacting with others in indoor public places or when social distancing cannot be achieved.
Under the amended order, a face covering will not be required in the following settings:
Businesses will still be required to post mask and face coverings notices. Masks and face coverings are still required in K-12 schools when social distancing is not happening, as well as on buses to and from school.
