FOX 17 News has talked to many residents who have said traffic is their number one problem with Nashville.
It’s no secret Nashville’s growth has clogged our interstates and streets.
Riders have said their biggest needs include more signage, better seating and overhangs at every bus stop in the city, making it more bus rider friendly across Nashville.
One of the things Mayor Cooper ran his campaign on is transportation and making a plan to create a better future for transit in Nashville.
He just tapped Faye DiMassimo to come up with that, so to better understand Nashville’s bus system, they went for a little ride.
“The thing that’s key to every transportation system and the bus part is reliability. We need to have a better bus system. We need to worry about routes,” DiMassimo said in a video of their bus ride shared on Cooper’s Twitter account.
You heard them talk about reliability and routes. That’s one of the things DiMassimo will be tackling.
Here’s what bus riders have told FOX 17 News they’d like to see:
DiMassimo comes from Atlanta, one of the latest names we’re hearing out of the Cooper administration.
Cooper says she will be coming up with Nashville’s new transportation plan as the senior adviser of transportation and infrastructure.
Right now we’re told that plan will be complete within the next year.
