COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WZTV) — Maury County Schools said it has made the decision to close for the total solar eclipse on Aug. 21.
The schools cited they might have been shorted staffed if school was in session on Monday.
Any eclipse viewing glasses that the school has will be given t students to take home on Friday. The schools said an "all call" to parents would be going out by 4 p.m. Friday.
If your family watches the solar eclipse on Monday, please be aware of the serious nature of watching the event and supervise your child closely," the schools said in a post.
The Boys and Girls Club will be open on Monday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. for students who need the facility.
