Man shot during Clarksville home invasion

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said two people were charged after an armed home invasion on Thursday morning.

Bernard Carver and Luis Luciano are facing charges for attempted murder, armed dangerous felonies and especially aggravated burglary. Luciano is facing an additional charged of evading arrest.

On Thursday, Officers arrived at a home on the 500 block of Louise Road and found one person with a gunshot wound. That man was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

“The events surrounding this home invasion and arrest unfolded very rapidly," Sheriff John Fuson said. "Due to the quick exchange of information between our Deputies, CPD, and other surrounding agencies, Caver was located and detained for questioning."

Deputies began looking for Bernard Carver, 48, and a green 1993 GMC Sonoma extended cab pick-up truck pulling a small white single axle enclosed trailer. On Friday morning, officers saw a truck matching the description near Hawkins Road/Cumberland Drive.

As an officer initiated a traffic stop, the vehicle fled the scene on Riverside Drive near the Dairy Queen. A short time later, a Clarksville Police officer pinned the vehicle in place in a parking lot.

Both people in the truck were taken into custody.

“I greatly appreciate the help of the Clarksville Police Department and the teamwork that was shown here this morning between our two agencies," Fuson said. "The coordinated efforts of all agencies involved, made quick work of a serious situation.”
