Man charged following attempted robbery, shooting near West Nashville Kroger
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) —
Metro Police said a man has been charged following an attempted robbery and shooting near West Nashville Kroger on Thursday night.
Raymond Amos, 22, is being charged for his involvement in the attempted robbery during an online sale.
Police said the two men from Franklin met up at a Lenox Avenue residence to purchase a pickup truck that was listed for sale online. The victims told police Christopher Jenkins, 20, then tried to rob them both at gunpoint. A second suspect then started to pat the Franklin men down.
The buyer told police he fired shots in self-defense, striking Jenkins. Jenkins fled on foot before collapsing in the nearby Kroger parking lot. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where police say he's in critical condition.
Meanwhile, Amos is being charged for his role in the west Nashville incident along with a Nov. 2. hold-up during another online sale. In that case, police said Amos was identified as the gunman who robbed a man purchasing a cell phone during a meetup at Richland Hills apartment.
Amos is being charged with aggravated robbery and two counts of attempted robbery. His photo is being withheld pending lineups.
